6.1.4 The Amplifier

The amplifier is the last step in controlling the sound. It allows setting the general volume of the

Jupiter-8V.

The amplifier (VCA)

This module is very simple, it consists of:

VOLUME : Knob to set the volume of the synthesizer

LFO MOD : Slider to set the intensity level of the modulation by the LFO.

The volume module is directly affected by the envelope 2 (ADSR)

6.1.5 The ADSR Envelopes

The "ADSR" envelopes allow several parameters to be controlled with the help of the keyboard as a

trigger. You will find two envelopes on the JUPITER-8: one unit for the cut off frequency of the

filter (as well as the frequency of VCO2) and the other modulating the VCA amplitude.

The « ADSR » envelope consists of 4 different parameters: A(Attack time), D(Decay time), S(Sustain

voltage) an the R(Release time). When playing the keyboard, the envelopes will trigger and modify

the way to sound will be heard.

The envelope « ADSR » of the filter

ATTACK : knob to set the attack time

DECAY : knob to set the decay time

SUSTAIN : knob to set the sustain time

RELEASE : knob to set the release time
